I had a great experience at Oakmont Auto care. James was very thorough and helpful. He explained my brake issues and gave me visual examples to help me understand. Great service and great work. I contacted him through yelp and he was very quick with his response time. When I went in for the service it was executed in a timely manner. Thanks James.

Not only is Oakmont auto care deserving of 5 stars, but so too is James, the owner. Not only did James take the time to listen to my issues and concerns with my Z3, he also offered to give me a ride to and from my home and when the job took longer than expected, he honored our discussed upon quote (within reason). Highly recommend!!! My alternator went out while I was traveling, and, not knowing the area, I had my car taken here per the recommendation of my tow truck driver. James not only fixed my car as quickly as possible, but he clearly and honestly explained some other things that were wrong with it that other mechanics skated over. He then went above and beyond by having my car washed, vacuumed and brought to me, saving me tons on Uber funds. If I was in the area full time, without a doubt, this would be my preferred mechanic.

Absolutely amazing! I found James on Yelp while looking for a mechanic to handle a pre-purchase inspection (PPI), to purchase the car, sight unseen. He went through the car top to bottom, inside and out. Ultimately, he gave me the OK that the car was easily likely to go another 100k+ with nothing but fluid changes (which includes brake fluid, oil, coolant, ATF, etc.), as much of the large maintenance items seem to have just been done. He went into as much detail as to lay out every single light that was out. The next time I saw James was for a check engine light that I spent countless hours trying to diagnose. For some perspective, I drove to him from downtown SF, even though there are quality mechanics that are certainly closer. It seems like he took almost an obsessive attitude trying to diagnose this -- it was one of those engine codes that say one thing, with the root cause being one of a dozen different things, each one being difficult to test. After going down the *very* detailed list of everything that he did to diagnose the issue, he recommended the option that ultimately would net him the least amount of money. Unfortunately it was not great news for the car, but due to my experiences with him, I knew that I could trust his diagnosis. Would not hesitate recommend James at Oakmont to friends and family and will be bringing my cars here for any other service in the future! Thanks James!

This was easily one of the most pleasant repair experiences I've had. My '08 Jeep Grand Cherokee wouldn't start, and I had it towed to Oakmont based off of the reviews. James called and gave me the exact amount this would cost, broke it down for me, and offered to pick me up when it was finished. He kept me updated the whole two days he had it, which was great. Prices seemed reasonable, and my Jeep works now so I assume it was quality work. The customer service is top notch.

James, the owner, is great! He is honest and easy to talk to... he's a great guy. He worked around my schedule and never made me feel rushed. He does high quality, very professional work at a fair price. He fixed an emissions problem on my Toyota pickup and inspected a used Ford F-150 I picked up. He answered all my questions in a friendly and caring way- he truly cares about his customers and their cars. I highly recommend!!
